Mildred Barker Weaver

- Savannah - Mildred Barker Weaver, age 93, died November 2, 2009 at Spanish Oaks Retreat after a long illness. Mrs. Weaver was born in Gautier, Mississippi. She lived in Brewton, AL, Camilla, GA and Baton Rouge, LA before moving to Savannah in 1979. She was a retired elementary school teacher, having spent her career in south Alabama, north Florida and southwest Georgia. She was a member of Whitefield United Methodist Church and served as a docent at the Davenport House for ten years in the 1980's.
Her husband, Claude H. Weaver preceded her in death.

Surviving are three daughters, Jane Adams and her husband, John of Savannah; Jo Weaver of Savannah; and Judy Weaver of New Orleans, LA; one grandson, Craig Adams and his wife, Molly; and three great-grandchildren all of Savannah.

Visitation: 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

Funeral: 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2009 in the Hodgson Chapel of Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors with Rev. Dr. David Seyle officiating, assisted by Rev. Dr. Grover Bell.

Burial: Friday, November 6, 2009 in Union Cemetery, Brewton, Alabama.

Remembrances: Whitefield United Methodist Church, 728 E. 55th. St., Savannah, GA 31405.
